The Guidance Center (TGC) is an innovative leader providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, education, and community outreach services to the children, adults, and families of Downriver and Southeast Michigan. TGC partnered with us to conduct a Campaign Readiness Study in preparation for a $2 million campaign – their first in many years. The campaign’s goal was to renovate and expand programming at a new Midtown Detroit location for the Kids-TALK Children’s Advocacy Center, a community program designed to serve abused and neglected children.

Confident in a successful outcome, R+R teamed with TGC for the launch and duration of the campaign to provide strategic planning and counsel. Together with TGC and its key stakeholders, we developed a compelling campaign case for support and a highly-tailored campaign strategy designed to build confidence and ownership. In addition to campaign support, we provided counsel to appropriately staff TGC’s fund development team, and set measurable goals and objectives to maximize ongoing annual support.
Throughout the campaign, R+R used our regular prospective donor strategy and coaching sessions with TGC and campaign leadership to translate the campaign plan into a successful reality, accelerating results. Supported by R+R prospect research profiles, these highly interactive sessions optimized cultivation and solicitation strategies with top leadership and major donors.
The Guidance Center exceeded their $2 million goal to support the Kids-TALK CAC program, and the campaign represented additional dollars raised above and beyond annual support. A vital program to TGC’s mission, Kids-TALK CAC supports approximately 2,120 children each year who are victims of sexual or physical abuse, severe trauma or neglect, or who have witnessed a violent crime. TGC’s partnership with R+R demonstrates the amazing things that can happen when volunteer and staff leadership demonstrate a unified passion for the organization’s mission and a desire to make the changes necessary to build the foundation for a successful, sustainable fundraising program.
