Kelly Quilter, CFRE
Kelly Quilter is a Consulting Analyst with the firm.
Prior to joining Richner & Richner, Kelly was the director of development for the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University (EMU). Kelly was responsible for major gifts, planned gifts, annual gifts, and alumni outreach and engagement. She also provided fundraising leadership and training to faculty and staff during the university’s comprehensive fundraising campaign, which concluded in 2012 after exceeding its $50 million goal. During her tenure at EMU, Kelly worked with many of the university’s largest donors, booking several of EMU’s largest gifts and pledges, including the single largest gift from a private donor in university history.
She has extensive experience in creating and managing volunteer boards. Together with a group of donors and volunteers, she co-founded Women in Philanthropy at EMU, a women’s giving and grant-making organization which, in fewer than five years, has raised more than $250,000 and distributed over $200,000 in grants to the EMU community. She remains actively involved as a board member and donor to the group, and since its inception has given presentations at professional conferences on establishing women’s giving groups. She has also served on boards and volunteered for several local non-profit organizations.
Kelly has a bachelor’s degree in business management and organizational leadership from Miami (Ohio) University, and a Master’s degree in historic preservation from EMU. She lives in Chelsea with her husband and two young sons.
