Cheryl Booms, CFRE


Cheryl Booms has provided fundraising and leadership to a variety of non-profit organizations for more than ten years, serving as a development officer, professional consultant, board member, and volunteer.

Prior to joining Richner & Richner, Cheryl was an executive consultant with O’Meara, Ferguson, Whelan, and Conway. Her primary responsibilities included developing and managing the implementation of campaign strategy for a wide range of institutions, some with goals exceeding $100 million. Previously, Cheryl spent five years as Director of the Sustaining Fund for the graduate school of theology at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. In addition to her responsibilities in annual giving, major gifts, donor stewardship, and operations management, Cheryl worked on a small team to complete the largest campaign in the school’s history, exceeding the campaign goal by 24% and doubling annual fundraising within 3 years.

Earlier professional roles include managing the fund development efforts at NET Ministries in St. Paul and working with secondary and post-secondary educational institutions and youth outreach groups to transform their ability to advance their missions and create stable, vibrant donor communities.

Cheryl is a past Board member of Twin Cities TEC in St. Paul and Catholic Urban Project in Ypsilanti.  She holds a degree in Social Work from Michigan State University, a Master of Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
