Cedric Richner, CFRE

Drawing on more than twenty-five years of experience, Cedric Richner counsels non-profit organizations regarding their fund development programming and overall strategic direction. He has deep expertise in managing organizational change, prospective major donor strategy, and building sustainable fundraising cultures.
After co-founding Richner & Richner nearly two decades ago, he subsequently developed a staff team and has increasingly honed innovative approaches to consulting. The firm works with a wide range of client organizations with a major practice area devoted to aging services.
Prior to forming Richner & Richner, Cedric’s last staff position was as Executive Director for the Midwest & Southern States Region for the University of Michigan’s $1.4 billion “Campaign for Michigan.” Early career experiences included political fundraising and executive director positions.
Among other significant volunteer leadership roles, Cedric is actively involved with The Giving Institute, where he serves as Vice-Chair of the Program & Education Committee and as a member of the Resource Development Committee for the Giving USA Foundation.
He is a board member of the Michigan Environmental Council and the Little Traverse Conservancy. Cedric is also a member of the Philanthropy Cabinet of LeadingAge, the national association of non-profit organizations dedicated to expanding the world of possibilities for the aging.
A frequent conference presenter, Cedric is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). He is a graduate of Hillsdale College and resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan with his wife, Mori, co-founder of Richner & Richner, and daughters, Sorbie and Roxana.
